On January 21st, 2023. Officers responded to a horrific scene regarding a drunk driver who crashed into two people who were parked on the side of the highway. When rescue arrived on scene they found two victims critically injured with life threatening injuries. A female almost had to have her legs amputated just to be rescued from the mangled vehicle and a male was critically injured with head trauma. The female ultimately died at the University of New Mexico Hospital and the male was last known to be in critical, but stable condition. This is the body-cam footage of the events that followed.
