In 1994, a teenage girl was savagely murdered in San Leandro on a cold rainy night. Despite the investigator’s best efforts, they could not find the person responsible. Time slowly passed, and the case went cold. It wasn’t until almost 13 years later, after a near-fatal attack and a second murder, that we would find out who had killed Evelyna LeBlanc. This case is a prime example of what stellar police work can do for a cold case and how a killer was taken off the streets.
