On June 23rd, 2023. A banker phoned the police after she discovered a 64-year-old man trying to cash a fake business check. When officers spoke to the man, he claimed he obtained the check through a “roofing” job but couldn’t explain what company he worked for or the job details. Police then phoned the man running the business and to no surprise, the man had no memory of ever writing that check. The man later came clean after trying to lie about it beforehand.
